Oxfam at Syracuse University was founded in November 2015 by Arva Hassonjee & Bianca Castro. They worked alongside their peers at Syracuse University and with the advisement of faculty to support Oxfam campaigns. In their 2 years as co-presidents, Arva & Bianca established Oxfam’s presence on campus by hosting events to support gender equality, raise awareness about food insecurity, and advocate for refugees in times of crisis.
Today, Oxfam at SU is a recognized student organization at SU with an active membership. We continue to host events to raise awareness about the injustices of poverty in hopes of supporting Oxfam America.
